Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, and other mental health conditions

Did you know that upon post-service discharge, many of our returning Veterans unfortunately return with invisible wounds or war, such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, and other mental health conditions. It is estimated that approximately 400,000 post-gulf war veterans are currently living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury and other invisible wounds of war – many are right here in our community!

These invisible wounds of war, especially Traumatic Brain Injury, is caused by the acute pressure from explosions or blasts to the human body. Conditions stemming from Traumatic Brain Injury can range from headaches, concussions, irritability, and sleep disorders to memory problems, slower thinking, and depression.
